Choose the cooling method from the required capacity, installation environment, duty cycle and service arrangement. KEVOR can review air-cooled and oil-cooled configurations, with availability confirmed for the selected model. The offered construction is confirmed in the technical quotation; neither cooling method is universally the better choice.
Cooling methods at a glance
Both designs regulate voltage while managing heat from their electrical components. Compare actual model specifications and installation requirements instead of selecting only by cooling name.
| Selection factor | Air cooled | Oil cooled |
|---|---|---|
| Heat management | Uses air circulation around the designed components; ventilation requirements depend on the model. | Uses an oil-filled construction to transfer heat; enclosure and service requirements depend on the model. |
| KEVOR selection basis | Confirmed for the selected model, load and installation. | Confirmed for the selected model, load and installation. |
| Installation checks | Space, ambient temperature, ventilation and dust conditions. | Space, installation surface, oil enclosure access and the applicable safety requirements. |
| Service planning | Keep ventilation paths accessible and follow the model maintenance instructions. | Follow the model instructions for inspecting the oil-filled enclosure, leaks and service intervals. |
| What to compare | Actual load, input/output range, thermal design and stated duty rating. | Actual load, input/output range, thermal design and stated duty rating. |
Why the installation matters
Heat, dust, moisture, ventilation and access can influence the correct construction. A qualified installer should review the actual location and the unit’s documentation. An enclosure advertised as indoor should not be assumed suitable for rain or washdown.
Ask whether ventilation, service clearances and other installation requirements are practical at your site. Freight, commissioning and on-site service availability should be agreed before ordering.
Select the electrical configuration first
Confirm KVA, supply phase, motor starting behavior, measured low/high incoming voltage and the required output. Cooling alone does not establish the stabilizer’s correction range or suitability for a machine.
KEVOR supplies 1–60 KVA single-phase and 10–100 KVA three-phase servo stabilizers. We review the cooling arrangement alongside your load, operating hours and installation environment.
Information to share for an accurate quotation
Send your load list and installation details so the construction can be reviewed against the application.
- Load or nameplate rating, supply phase and starting method
- Measured minimum and maximum input voltage
- Required nominal output and equipment supply limits
- Installation environment, available ventilation and service access
- Required quantity, destination and delivery constraints
